Die Vielzahl an Studien, die im vergangenen Jahr im intensivmedizinischen Kontext publiziert wurde, ist schier unüberschaubar. Vor diesem Hintergrund bietet die vorliegende Übersichtsarbeit eine Möglichkeit, sich über neue Studienergebnisse strukturiert zu informieren. Nichtsdestotrotz stellt diese Zusammenfassung lediglich eine subjektive Auswahl der nach Ansicht der Autoren relevanten Arbeiten dar. Sie kann und soll somit keinen allumfassenden Überblick über die intensivmedizinische Literatur geben. Die entsprechenden Zusammenfassungen der Studien, Aufführung der Studienakronyme (Tab. 1) und die Einordnung in das bestehende wissenschaftliche Umfeld sollen dennoch wesentlich dazu beitragen, evidenzbasierte Medizin an das Intensivstationsbett zu transportieren.
