Zusammenfassung

Die Akuttherapie symptomatischer zerebrovaskulärer Erkrankungen spielt im klinischen Alltag eine wichtige Rolle. Die Behandlung asymptomatischer zerebrovaskulärer Erkrankungen – und damit auch die instrumentelle Primärprävention – gewinnt zunehmend an Bedeutung, nicht zuletzt auch aufgrund der Möglichkeiten moderner bildgebender Verfahren.
Die vorliegende Übersicht beantwortet Fragen zum Spontanverlauf und zu unterschiedlichen Behandlungsoptionen bei asymptomatischen intrakraniellen Aneurysmen, zerebralen arteriovenösen Malformationen und extrakraniellen Karotisstenosen unter besonderer Berücksichtigung endovaskulärer Therapieverfahren.
