Zusammenfassung

Vor dem Hintergrund der steigenden Krebsinzidenz und einer gleichzeitig verbesserten Diagnostik und onkologischen Behandlung steigt die Anzahl an Krebspatienten in den Industrienationen weltweit an. Multimodale Behandlungsschemata, die zu einem tumorfreien Überleben oder zur Verlängerung der Lebenszeit beitragen, können allein oder in Kombination das Risiko für körperliche und psychosoziale Folgeprobleme oder Spätkomplikationen erhöhen. Für viele Patienten nimmt die Krebserkrankung einen chronischen Verlauf und ist mit teilweise erheblichen körperlichen und psychosozialen Belastungen verbunden, die auch in mittel- und längerfristiger Perspektive die Lebensqualität der Betroffenen beeinträchtigen. Zu häufigen Problemen von Krebspatienten im längerfristigen Krankheitsverlauf zählen chronische Schmerzen, krebsspezifische Fatigue, psychosoziale Belastungen sowie Einschränkungen der Selbstständigkeit, der Teilhabe an Arbeit und der Lebensqualität. Diese Entwicklungen sowohl in der kurativen wie palliativen onkologischen Versorgung haben verschiedene Implikationen für die psychoonkologische Versorgungsforschung. Diese betreffen Fragen des Versorgungsbedarfs und der Bedarfsgerechtigkeit, Fragen der Entwicklung, Implementierung und wissenschaftlichen Evaluation von patientenzentrierten und finanzierbaren Versorgungskonzepten für unterschiedliche Gruppen von Krebspatienten mit unterschiedlichen Unterstützungsbedürfnissen, Fragen des Zugangs und der Inanspruchnahme von Versorgungsangeboten sowie Fragen nach geeigneten Ergebniskriterien der Versorgungsforschung.
