Verwendung von Allergieimplantaten in Deutschland

Zusammenfassung

Im Rahmen einer schriftlichen Umfrage (Rücklaufquote 86,7 %) wurden die aktiven Mitglieder der Arbeitsgemeinschaft Endoprothetik (AE) in Deutschland gefragt, wie häufig sich Patienten im Jahr 2009 mit einer bekannten Allergie gegen Nickel und Kobalt zu einem geplantem künstlichen Hüft- oder Kniegelenkersatz in den entsprechenden Kliniken oder Abteilungen vorgestellt hatten und wie häufig sich Patienten im Jahr 2009 mit fraglich allergischen Beschwerden nach erfolgtem Hüft- oder Kniegelenkersatz vorgestellt hatten. Obwohl nur bei 0,6 % der Patienten mit einer Hüftendoprothese und bei 1,1 % der Patienten mit einer Knieendoprothese ein fragliches Allergieproblem mit der Prothese zu einer Vorstellung geführt hatte, implantierten die befragten Operateure bei bekannter Hautallergie gegen Nickel oder Kobalt in 84 % der Fälle ein so genanntes „Allergieimplantat“. Bei bisher unbekannten Langzeitergebnissen der Allergieimplantate und insgesamt wenigen Daten zum Thema Allergie und Gelenkersatz wird dieser Trend im vorliegenden Artikel kritisch hinterfragt. In einem zweiten Teil des Fragebogens wurden ganz gezielte Fragen zum Umgang mit Allergiepatienten anhand konstruierter Fallbeispiele gestellt.
