Appropriate and timely activation of an organized, rehearsed trauma team during the care of severely injured patients saves lives [15]. However, many hospitals in low-resource settings that routinely care for the injured do not have trauma teams. Resultantly, the care provided to seriously injured patients within the first hour of reaching the hospital is often delayed and under-coordinated and results in preventable death and disability [3]. …

S3-Leitlinie „Diagnostik und Therapie des Karpaltunnelsyndroms“

Prof. Dr. med. Gregor Antoniadis Das Karpaltunnelsyndrom ist die häufigste Kompressionsneuropathie peripherer Nerven. Obwohl die Anamnese mit dem nächtlichen Einschlafen der Hand (Brachialgia parästhetica nocturna) sehr typisch ist, ist eine klinisch-neurologische Untersuchung und Elektroneurografie in manchen Fällen auch eine Neurosonografie erforderlich. Im Anfangsstadium sind konservative Maßnahmen (Handgelenksschiene, Ergotherapie) empfehlenswert. Bei nicht Ansprechen der konservativen Therapie oder Auftreten von neurologischen Ausfällen ist eine Dekompression des N. medianus am Karpaltunnel indiziert.
