Meaningful discussion of computerized simulation technology for the training of surgical skills began almost 20 years ago. The field of medical simulation, at one time seemingly quite straightforward, has evolved into a highly complex field of many disciplines. Currently, in the interest of patient safety and consistent physician proficiency, there is growing interest in skills training and documentation of skill acquisition. Simulators and simulation curricula of varying degrees of complexity and cost are taking hold as part of a new paradigm for education [1]. …

S3-Leitlinie „Diagnostik und Therapie des Karpaltunnelsyndroms“

Prof. Dr. med. Gregor Antoniadis Das Karpaltunnelsyndrom ist die häufigste Kompressionsneuropathie peripherer Nerven. Obwohl die Anamnese mit dem nächtlichen Einschlafen der Hand (Brachialgia parästhetica nocturna) sehr typisch ist, ist eine klinisch-neurologische Untersuchung und Elektroneurografie in manchen Fällen auch eine Neurosonografie erforderlich. Im Anfangsstadium sind konservative Maßnahmen (Handgelenksschiene, Ergotherapie) empfehlenswert. Bei nicht Ansprechen der konservativen Therapie oder Auftreten von neurologischen Ausfällen ist eine Dekompression des N. medianus am Karpaltunnel indiziert.
