Zusammenfassung

Das Persönlichkeitsmerkmal des individuellen Bindungsstils beeinflusst nicht nur das Schmerzerleben und -verhalten von Patienten, es wirkt sich auch darauf aus, wie gut diese von einer Schmerztherapie profitieren. So sind sicher gebundene Patienten im Vergleich zu unsicher gebundenen besser in der Lage, erzielte Therapieerfolge über einen längeren Zeitraum aufrechtzuerhalten. Diese Ergebnisse sind besonders relevant, da Patienten mit chronischen Schmerzen in der Gruppe der unsicher Gebundenen überrepräsentiert sind. Der Bindungsstil kann demnach als psychosozialer Vulnerabilitätsfaktor für eine Chronifizierung von akuten Schmerzen angesehen werden.
