Lebensrettende Maßnahmen bei Kindern („paediatric life support“)

Auszug

Die vorliegenden Leitlinien zu den lebensrettenden Maßnahmen bei Kindern („paediatric life support“, PLS) basieren auf den folgenden Tatsachen:
1.
Die Inzidenz kritischer Erkrankungen oder Verletzungen, insbesondere die eines manifesten Atem--Kreislauf-Stillstands, ist bei Kindern wesentlich niedriger als bei Erwachsenen.
 
2.
Die Mehrzahl kindlicher Notfälle wird primär von pädiatrisch nichtspezialisierten Helfern versorgt, die somit nur über eine begrenzte pädiatrisch-notfallmedizinische Erfahrung verfügen.
