Vikan et al. [1] recently reported for the first time a cross-sectional inverse association between total serum testosterone and carotid plaque area among 2,290 men from the Tromsø study that was independent from major confounders (age, systolic blood pressure, smoking, and use of lipid-lowering drugs).
