Gallbladder cancer is a relatively rare disease and its prognosis remains poor, as most patients present at advanced tumor stage [
1]. The clinical presentations of gallbladder cancer and gallstone disease are difficult to distinguish from each other. Therefore, early detection is of vital importance for the successful treatment of gallbladder cancer.
