Zentrale psychosoziale Herausforderungen bei Krebsüberlebenden

Zusammenfassung

Neben körperlichen Belastungen sind Krebsüberlebende mit vielfältigen psychosozialen Herausforderungen konfrontiert. Körperliche und psychosoziale Aspekte lassen sich dabei schwer trennen und stehen häufig in Wechselwirkung. Ebenso ist eine genaue Abgrenzung zwischen „normaler“ und pathologischer Belastungssymptomatik im Rahmen dieser schwierigen Lebenssituation problematisch und in vielen Fällen nicht zielführend, da auch eine subsyndromale Symptomatik mit hohem Leidensdruck einhergehen kann. Das soziale Umfeld stellt Krebsüberlebende dabei nicht nur vor große Herausforderungen, sondern kann auch als wichtige Ressource dienen. Spirituelle Fragen gewinnen v. a. bei Patienten mit einer fortgeschrittenen Krebserkrankung an Bedeutung. Bisher existieren vielfältige psychosoziale Interventionsmöglichkeiten für Krebsüberlebende. Metaanalysen deuten auf kleine bis mittlere Therapieeffekte hin.
