In this issue of the journal, Arsanjani et al.
1 investigate if early revascularization can be predicted by automatic integration of clinical data and image data from myocardial perfusion SPECT (MPS). It has previously been shown that a normal or mildly abnormal MPS is associated with a low frequency of referral for coronary revascularization
2 and that a normal MPS is associated with a very low annual risk of cardiac death and acute myocardial infarction.
