2014, Clinical Colorectal CancerCitation Excerpt :It should be clarified that measured percentages of the hypoxic LDH isoenzymes (composed mostly of subunit M) are expected to be reciprocal to those of the oxic LDH isoenzymes (mostly subunit H), so the changes of each are opposed by design. LDH serum levels are known to correlate with outcome of a number of malignancies, including CRC.16 However, the significance of the LDH isoenzymes is not well documented.
