    At 18 months, the outcome was normal and symmetric to the noninjured side, and no clinical symptoms were reported (Figs 4 and 5). Several reports in the literature describe fractures of the trapezium, either isolated2-5,8 or with concomitant injuries.1,6,7,9 However, no consensus has been reached regarding the mechanism of injury.2
