Abstract

A patient with multiple neurofibromatosis with severe generalized cutaneous involvement and a functioning beta cell carcinoma of the pancreas is reported. Determinations of blood sugar and insulin-like activity during glucose tolerance and sodium tolbutamide tests as well as the results of assay of the extracts of the tumor, adjacent normal pancreas, and cutaneous neurofibromas for insulin-like activity are also presented.
