2022, Autoimmunity ReviewsCitation Excerpt :Only one study addressed the prevalence of MMP reporting 24.6 patients/million, i.e. about 2,000 patients in Germany in 2014 [24]. Females appear to be affected more frequently with a female to male ratio of nearly 2:1 [25–27]. MMP mainly arises in the late middle and old age usually between the age of 60 to 80 [28–30].
