Effect of noradrenergic denervation had proved to be hard to detect consistently in tests of anxiolytic/anxiogenic activity [181], but in the exploration box the rats with selective locus coeruleus denervation by DSP-4 treatment were uniformly non-exploratory and this effect was completely eliminated by administration of a low dose of diazepam [180].
