    Recurrences can be reduced by strict adherence to medical therapies (Table 2). Posttherapy complications may also occur and include rectal pain or spasm, bleeding, ulceration, urinary retention, and stricture formation.22–31 Patients may experience mild discomfort or self-limited bleeding that may last approximately 3–5 days after the treatment.
