Design and fabrication of a fixed implant-supported interim restoration from a dynamic navigation virtual plan
2020, Journal of Prosthetic DentistryDigital transfer of the subgingival contour and emergence profile of the provisional restoration to the final bone-anchored fixed restoration
2019, Journal of Prosthodontic ResearchCitation Excerpt :Then, dividing the total volume of discrepancy by total cubic volume, the volume ratio of the total discrepancy was computed. A conventional analog strategy comprising a pick-up impression method with a customized impression coping, which reflects the subgingival contour of the provisional restoration, has been utilized when taking impressions for the final restoration [3–5]. By utilizing this procedure, the final restoration, possessing a similar subgingival contour and emergence profile as the provisional restoration, can be manufactured through a conventional analogue technique in the laboratory.
A CAD-CAM technique for conversion of interim-to-definitive restoration in patients with complete edentulism

2016, Journal of Prosthetic DentistryIn silico comparison of the reproducibility of full-arch implant provisional restorations to final restoration between a 3D Scan/CAD/CAM technique and the conventional method
2015, Journal of Prosthodontic ResearchCitation Excerpt :At the same time, provisional restorations enable testing of shape and contour of ISPs as to achieve an easy cleaning, without allowing for food accumulation, between alveolar ridge and the suprastructure. Several attempts have been made to obtain accurate transfer (copy) of the provisional restoration during confection of the final restoration, such as preparation of plaster casts [2–4]. However, no current technique can reproduce the details of the provisional restoration without significant distortions, which consequently, make additional adjustments in the final restoration necessary.
