Association of TBX21 gene polymorphisms and acute anterior uveitis risk in a Chinese population: A case-control study
2023, Experimental Eye ResearchThe microbiome in HLA-B27-associated disease: implications for acute anterior uveitis and recommendations for future studies
2023, Trends in MicrobiologyCitation Excerpt :HLA-B27 is associated with a group of arthritic disorders that share clinical features, known as spondyloarthritis (SpA), and an inflammatory eye disease of the iris and ciliary body, known as AAU. HLA-B27 is present in 8–10% of the general Caucasian population, compared with around 50% of patients with AAU and up to 90% of patients with AS [3]. AAU and SpA are confluent clinical entities where AAU is an established extra-articular manifestation of SpA and almost half of patients with AAU have an underlying SpA [4].
