    Cyclooxygenase inhibitors are oncologically beneficial when used alone or in combination with other therapeutic modalities [25]. Studies have shown that removal of primary tumors adversely accelerates the subsequent growth of minimal residual disease leading to accelerated local recurrence [8–12]. In spite of curative-intent surgery for lung cancer, the incidence of recurrent lung cancer and metachronous lung cancer remain high [4, 7].
