Surgical indications include more than 35 degrees of valgus instability of the MCP joint in flexion or more than 15 degrees difference in valgus stress of the MCP joint when compared with the healthy thumb [4]. Surgical techniques include direct repair of the ligament, repair with anchors or transosseous sutures and reconstruction with autograft or allograft.
