Cardiac MRI segmentation with sparse annotations: Ensembling deep learning uncertainty and shape priors
2022, Medical Image AnalysisCitation Excerpt :Cardiac imaging, including echocardiography, x-ray computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and nuclear medicine, plays a pivotal role in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease (Antonini-Canterin et al., 2018; Braga et al., 2019). Compared to echocardiography, CT, and nuclear medicine, cardiac MRI provides non-invasive, flexible, and multi-contrast visualization and assessment of a wide range of cardiac structural and functional abnormalities with relatively high spatial and temporal resolution without ionizing radiation (Hundley et al., 2010; Kumar et al., 2010). Cardiac cine MRI is routinely performed as part of a cardiac MRI examination (Kramer et al., 2013) and has been the gold standard (Hundley et al., 2010) for quantifying left ventricular (LV) function, including LV myocardial mass, cardiac volumes, ejection fraction, wall motion and thickening, and strain (Hundley et al., 2010; Ruijsink et al., 2020).
Usefulness of cardiac fusion imaging with computed tomography and Doppler echocardiography in the assessment of conduit stenosis in complex adult congenital heart disease
2021, Journal of CardiologyCitation Excerpt :Therefore, the STDME technology is considered to be an ideal imaging method for conduit assessment, which was proved by the present study. Phase-contrast cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) has emerged as an important diagnostic modality for noninvasive evaluation of stenotic cardiac lesions [24]. In contrast to measurements of peak velocity by CMR, it is easy to repeat measurements using the STDME technology once reference images are obtained.
