Bien qu’a priori
Conclusion

2014, Journal of Visceral SurgeryCitation Excerpt :QoL could be considered as a patient-defined measure using the WHO health definition of QoL. There is general agreement concerning the multidimensional concept of QoL taking into account levels of physical, mental, social, and patient satisfaction with treatment as well as treatment outcome [5,6]. QoL reflects direct clinical benefit of treatments for the patient.

2012, European Journal of CancerCitation Excerpt :However, recent trials of multimodal treatments for rectal cancer6,11 use pCR or LC as primary endpoint. The choice of such early endpoints is a matter of debate which should be addressed by more powerful studies to statistically validate their surrogacy.12–14 While an intermediate endpoint needs to be strongly associated with the final endpoint (i.e. endpoints representing clinical benefit for the patient like OS), its qualification as a surrogate endpoint further requires demonstration of a strong association between treatment effects (hazard ratio) on the surrogate and treatment effects on the final endpoint.
