Assessment of liver fibrosis in primary biliary cholangitis: Comparison between indirect serum markers and fibrosis morphometry
2016, Digestive and Liver DiseaseCitation Excerpt :Kakuda et al. [24] recently proposed a new histological staging and grading system for PBC that modernises the histological evaluation of fibrosis stage and necro-inflammatory activities in liver biopsies. Corpechot [25] pointed out that this new score appears to be complex and that it is difficult to apply in clinical practice. Moreover, stage 4 of this histological score includes cirrhosis and pre-cirrhotic hepatic fibrosis.
