Prognostic Value of Right Ventricular Two-Dimensional and Three-Dimensional Speckle-Tracking Strain in Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension: Superiority of Longitudinal Strain over Circumferential and Radial Strain
2020, Journal of the American Society of EchocardiographyCitation Excerpt :First, RV 3D STE analysis, which was originally designed for the left ventricle, was used for the RV analysis in our study. However, it has been applied to assess the RV function in several studies.11-15 Second, echocardiograms were not acquired simultaneously with the invasive right heart catheterization study but were performed within a short time before.
Biventricular assessment of light-chain amyloidosis using 3D speckle tracking echocardiography: Differentiation from other forms of myocardial hypertrophy
2018, International Journal of CardiologyCitation Excerpt :Our results confirm that LV longitudinal and circumferential strain are reduced in CA patients compared to controls as well as LV twist and untwisting velocity. In addition, in spite of a reported satisfactory negative correlation between RV strain and RVEF [24], we found impairment of RV longitudinal strain in the presence of normal RVEF in line with previous studies showing that LS is more sensitive compared to ejection fraction in detecting early changes in ventricular performance [28]. CA patients had higher mean RVSP and LV filling pressure (E/Ea) than controls, but when we restricted our analysis to those with RVSP <35 mmHg, we observed unchanged differences in RV regional strain between CA patients and controls.
Dataset on the use of 3D speckle tracking echocardiography in light-chain amyloidosis
2018, Data in BriefCitation Excerpt :Global strain values were automatically calculated by the software and were not determined in the presence of more than 3(of 17) uninterpretable segments. Three-dimensional RV speckle tracking analysis was performed after imaging the RV chamber in apical views by using a 4 V phased array transducer with high volume rate(≥30 image frames/s) and six-beat acquisition with a methodology previously described [9–13]. The transducer was positioned at the modified apical position (more lateral than that in the standard apical view) for full RV coverage.
Histologic and Hemodynamic Correlates of Right Ventricular Function in a Pressure Overload Model: a Study Using Three-Dimensional Speckle Tracking Echocardiography
2018, Ultrasound in Medicine and BiologyCitation Excerpt :Smith et al. (2014) found that circumferential strain strongly correlated to RVEF in patients with pulmonary hypertension. In contrast, Ozawa et al. (2014) identified that longitudinal strain was significantly associated with RVEF. In the present study, we showed that global circumferential strain correlated strongly with RVEF.
