2021, TheriogenologyCitation Excerpt :This flavonoid compound has been demonstrated to possess antiapoptotic [22], antioxidant [23–25] and anti-inflammatory [26–28] properties. Moreover, Quercetin is considered a free radical scavenger and suppressor of free radical formation, and as a potential antioxidant, is capable of reducing cell death [29–31]. It has been successfully employed as a promoter in oocyte maturation or embryo preimplantation and development in ovine [32], bovine [33,34], porcine [31], caprine [35] and mouse [36] in vitro.
