A Comparative Study of Iranian Female Primary School Teachers’ Quality of Life With and Without Voice Complaints
2016, Journal of VoiceCitation Excerpt :On the other hand, having different types of subscales with lower mean (in comparison with other studies) could be due to the fact that quality of life is a culture-dependent variable,27 so it could be caused by differences in society, culture, customs and traditions, religions, and regions. Moreover, the findings imply that sometimes voice-related stress and work conditions could be responsible for teachers' mental and physical deterioration;26 therefore, counseling and professional psychotherapies must be scheduled for them. When comparing the quality of life in female teachers with and without voice complaints, we found that teachers with voice complaints compared with teachers without voice complaints have lower scores in total and in the eight SF-36 subscales, which indicates lower quality of life.
