Summary

A simple classification of fractures of the adult olecranon process is proposed and used as a basis for making recommendations about treatment. Possible mechanisms of injury are discussed. Surgical management varies according to the fracture type and certain modifications and applications of previously described techniques are recommended, together with a review of some of the relevant literature.
