Diagnostik der Aufmerksamkeitsdefizit-/Hyperaktivitätsstörung (ADHS) im Erwachsenenalter

Abstract

Zusammenfassung: Die Diagnose einer Aufmerksamkeitsdefizit-/Hyperaktivitätsstörung (ADHS) im Erwachsenenalter ist ein komplexer Prozess, vor allem wenn die Störung im Kindesalter nicht diagnostiziert wurde. Verschiedene Datenebenen und -quellen sind dabei zu berücksichtigen. Ziel des Beitrages ist es, einen Überblick über allgemeine Probleme der Diagnostik der ADHS, die verschiedenen Stufen des diagnostischen Prozesses sowie den diagnostischen Instrumenten zu geben, die hilfreich eingesetzt werden können, um die Diagnose sowie komorbide Störungen zuverlässig zu erfassen. Zur Verfügung stehen vor allem Interviews sowie Selbst- und Fremdbeurteilungsverfahren. Abschließend werden offene Fragen und bestehende Probleme in der Diagnostik der ADHS diskutiert.


Diagnosis of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in Adults

Abstract: The diagnosis of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in adults is a complex process especially if the disorder was not diagnosed during childhood. Different databases and data sources have to be considered. The paper provides an overview of general problems of the assessment, the different steps of the diagnostic process and the instruments which can be useful to diagnose the disorder as well as comorbidity in a reliable way. Available are interviews, self and observer rating scales. Finally some unsolved issues in the assessment of ADHD in adults are discussed.
