Eltern und Kinder: Der Zürcher Kurzfragebogen zum Erziehungsverhalten (ZKE)

Abstract

Zusammenfassung. Im Beitrag wird der “Zürcher Kurzfragebogen zur Erfassung des Erziehungsverhaltens“ (ZKE) von Müttern und Vätern aus Sicht der Kinder an einer Stichprobe (N = 877) 11- bis 17jähriger schweizerischer Schülerinnen und Schüler aus dem Kanton Zürich überprüft. Der Fragebogen erfaßt in reliabler und valider Weise die Dimensionen “Wärme und Unterstützung“, “Psychologischer Druck“ und “Regeln und Kontrolle“. Im Einklang mit der Forschungsliteratur zur familiären Sozialisation korrespondierte ein hohes Maß an elterlicher Unterstützung mit positiven Entwicklungsergebnissen wie einem höheren Selbstwert, einer höheren Neigung zu aktiven Bewältigungsstrategien und einer geringeren Belastung mit externalisierenden und internalisierenden Symptomen. Ein hohes Maß an psychologischem Druck hingegen ging mit einem geringeren Selbstwert, einer stärkeren Tendenz zu vermeidendem Coping und einer höheren Symptombelastung einher. Mit Hilfe der drei Skalen lassen sich darüber hinaus multidimensionale Erziehungstypen (z.B. autoritative Erziehung) abbilden, die sich im Hinblick auf Entwicklungsergebnisse deutlich unterscheiden.


Parents and children: the Zurich Brief Questionnaire for the Assessment of Parental Behaviors

Abstract. The paper evaluates the ”Zurich Brief Questionnaire for the Assessment of Parental Behaviors“ by mothers and fathers from the children’s perspective. A sample (N = 877) of 11- to 17 year-old students from the Canton of Zurich, Switzerland, was used. The questionnaire reliably measures the three dimensions ”warmth and support,“ ”psychological pressure,“ and ”demands and control.“ In line with previous research on family socialization, high levels of parental support corresponded to children’s positive developmental outcomes such as higher self-esteem, greater endorsement of active coping strategies and lower frequencies of externalizing and internalizing symptoms. Higher levels of psychological pressure, however, were associated with lower self-esteem, greater preference for repressive coping strategies and higher incidence of psychopathological symptoms. Moreover, from the three scales, multidimensional types of parenting (e.g., authoritative parenting) can be derived that markedly differ with respect to children’s developmental outcomes.
