To the editor:

—Spontaneous rupture of spleen is uncommon but it is a life-threatening complication. Spontaneous rupture of normalized spleen is extremely rare. We report a case with alcoholism and recurrent attacks of acute pancreatitis complicated with spontaneous rupture of spleen.

A 25-year-old man presented at our emergency department (ED) because of sudden onset of left upper quadrant (LUQ) abdominal pain. He has been a victim of heavy alcoholism with recurrent acute pancreatitis episodes in the past. He
