Summary
Detailed phytochemical investigations were carried out on petroleum ether and alcoholic extracts. By column chromatography of unsaponifiable fraction of fat obtained from pet. ether extract, n–pentacosane, n–tricontanol and B–sitosterol were isolated and identified. From alcoholic extract a watersoluble alkaloid, l–stachydrine (0.10 %) isolated. Another chloroform soluble alkaloid (0.15 %) was isolated.
