Zusammenfassung

Es wird über einen 49jährigen Mann berichtet, bei dem es etwa 12 bis 14 Jahre nach Applikation von schätzungsweise 80 bis 100 ccm Thorotrast zu einem Hämangiosarkom der Leber gekommen war. Der Tod trat durch Verblutung in die freie Bauchhöhle ein. Dem Patienten war über die Tatsache dieses diagnostischen Eingriffs nichts bekannt. Sichere Bestimmungen der noch vorhandenen Radioaktivität in Leber, Milz und Knochen waren nicht möglich, jedoch scheint ein unmittelbarer Zusammenhang zwischen dem Thorotrast und dem Hämangiosarkom der Leber auf Grund der röntgenologischen und autoptischen Befunde als gesichert.

Summary

Haemangio sarcoma of the liver was diagnosed in a 49-year old man 12—14 years after the administration of an estimated 80—100 ml. of thorotrast. Death was due to bleeding into the peritoneal cavity from the neoplasm. Radiological and post-mortem findings almost certainly indicated a direct causal connection between the earlier thorotrast administration and the development of the liver sarcoma.

Sarcoma hepático después de Thorotrast

Se informa de un hombre de 49 años, en el cual unos 12 a 14 años después de la aplicación de aproximadamente 80 a 100 cc de Thorotrast, apareció un hemangio-sarcoma en el hígado. La muerte tuvo lugar por hemorragia a la cavidad abdominal libre. El paciente no sabía nada sobre el hecho de esta intervención diagnóstica. No fueron posibles determinaciones seguras de la radioactividad todavía presente en hígado, bazo y huesos, pero parece segura, una relación inmediata entre el thorotrast y el hemangio-sarcoma de hígado, dados los hallazgos radiológicos y autópsicos.
