Die vorliegende Übersichtsarbeit sondiert auf Basis internationaler Reviews der vergangenen Dekade Dosis-Wirkungs-Beziehungen körperlicher Aktivität zur Prävention und Therapie von Zivilisationskrankheiten. Empirisch gesicherte Hinweise auf Dosis-Wirkungs-Beziehungen finden sich für 8 der 10 am besten untersuchten chronischen Erkrankungen. Für 6 (Prävention) bzw. 4 Krankheitsbilder (Therapie) lassen sich Empfehlungen zur minimalen wirksamen Dosis (1–7 h moderate bis intensive körperliche Aktivität pro Woche) ableiten. Steigerungen der Bewegungsdosis gehen mit größeren gesundheitswirksamen Effekten einher. 

Based on published international reviews, this narrative review analyzes the dose-response relation between physical activity and preventive as well as therapeutic effects on chronic diseases. There is at least satisfactory evidence for dose-response in 8 out of 10 of the most frequently studied chronic diseases. For 6 (prevention) and 4 chronic diseases (therapy), respectively, there seems to be a minimum effective dose between 1 and 7 hours of moderate to vigorous physical activity per week. Increasing the dose of physical activity leads to better effects on health.
