Summary

Workplace Health Promotion: An update on concepts, trends and research status

The importance of workplace health promotion (WHP) is gaining more importance in Germany. Indeed the guidelines on WHP are available at both health insurance and enterprise levels. However, Germany is still far from being a gold standard for the design and implementation of such programmes. Therefore it is necessary to look for guidance on research from the published works in North America. Particularly the U.S. offers a comprehensive WHP implementation with adequate accompanying evaluation research. Based on the aforementioned, this article gives an overview as well as outlines of the possible solutions regarding the „shared services“ concept.
