1Einleitung

Unter dem Sammelbegriff „nichttumoröse Speicheldrüsenerkrankungen” werden Entzündungen, Stoffwechsel- und Sekretionsstörungen sowie Verletzungen der großen und kleinen Speicheldrüsen zusammengefasst. Hierbei handelt es sich um zahlreiche unterschiedliche, z. T. seltene Erkrankungen, deren Ätiologie in vielen Fällen bis heute weitgehend unklar ist.

Während durch den Einsatz moderner Untersuchungstechniken die Diagnostik erheblich verbessert wurde, stellt die Therapie vieler dieser Krankheitsbilder sowohl den niedergelassenen HNO-Arzt als auch den Kliniker oft vor erhebliche Probleme. Dies trifft in besonderem Maße auf die chronischen Speicheldrüsenentzündungen, aber auch auf die Sialadenosen zu. Polypragmatische Therapiekonzepte, die häufig auf kasuistischen Mitteilungen oder nichtrandomisierten Studien mit kleinen Fallzahlen beruhen, reflektieren die Unsicherheit bei der Behandlung dieser Krankheitsbilder. In ähnlichem Maße gilt dies für die Behandlung postoperativer Komplikationen nach chirurgischen Eingriffen an den Kopfspeicheldrüsen.

Ziel der vorliegenden Arbeit ist es, auf der Basis einer Literaturübersicht die erfolgversprechendsten Strategien zur Behandlung der nichttumorösen Speicheldrüsenerkrankungen zusammenzustellen.
