Zusammenfassung

Vorgestellt wird der Fall einer 55jährigen Patientin mit einer massiven schmerzlosen Schwellung der Halsweichteile rechts. Die operative Freilegung zeigte eine 7 cm breite thrombosierte Ektasie der V. jugularis interna bei retrosternaler Clavikulaluxation. Es erfolgte die Resektion der V. jugularis interna von der Schädelbasis bis zur oberen Thoraxapertur mit nachfolgendem komplikationslosen Verlauf.

Summary

A 55-year-old female with massive painless swelling of the right cervical soft tissue was admitted for surgical exploration. The operation revealed an ectasia of the internal jugular vein with a diameter up to 7 cm which was obliterated by thrombotic material. We discussed a retrosternal dislocation of the clavicle proved by chest X-ray. We resected the internal jugular vein from the basis of the skull to the upper thoracic aperture. The postoperative course was uneventful.
