Einleitung

Neben einfachen Dislokationsverletzungen wie Konkussion oder Lockerung gehören Frakturen der Zahnkrone zu den häufigsten Folgen nach einem Zahntrauma. Im Gegensatz dazu sind Frakturen der Wurzeln eher seltene Ereignisse [[1]]. Zahnfrakturen treten bevorzugt im bleibenden Gebiss auf.

Merke: Im Milchgebiss ist aufgrund der elastischeren Knochenstruktur eher mit Dislokationsverletzungen zu rechnen.

Aus therapeutischer Sicht stehen restaurative und endodontische Aspekte im Vordergrund [[2]]. Verletzungen parodontaler Strukturen müssen insbesondere bei Wurzelquerfrakturen und Kronen-Wurzel-Frakturen aufgrund der Dislokation des kronentragenden Zahnfragmentes berücksichtigt werden.

Der vorliegende Beitrag bietet eine knappe Übersicht des aktuellen Wissens zur Behandlung von Zahnfrakturen. Die vorgestellten Therapiekonzepte sind einerseits weitgehend im Einklang mit den aktuellen Richtlinien der International Association of Dental Traumatology (IADT) [[3]] und spiegeln andererseits die eigenen Erfahrungen und Sichtweisen am Zahnunfallzentrum Basel wider.
