Summary

Health-resort medicine has a great tradition in Turkey. It is connected with the cultures of ancient Romans and other peoples. This tradition is accompanied by empiricism and intuitiveness. Even today, traditional methods are preceedingly used in a variety of spas and health resorts. In this presentation, the circumstances of the duration of cures, the number of baths, water temperature and duration of baths are characterized. The peculiarities of patient groups (age, diagnosis) and their indications for health-resort treatment are pointed out. Finally, social aspects of the cures are interpreted.

Zusammenfassung

Die Kurortbehandlung in der Türkei hat eine große Tradition. Sie ist mit den Kulturen der Römer und anderer Völker verknüpft. Empirismus und Intuition begleiten diese Tradition. Die traditionellen Methoden stehen auch heute in vielen Heilbädern und Kurorten im Vordergrund. In dieser Darstellung werden die Sachverhalte der Kurdauer, der Anzahl der Bäder, der Badetemperatur und der Badedauer charakterisiert. Auf die Besonderheiten der Patientengruppen (Alter, Diagnose) und deren Indikationsstellung zur Kurortbehandlung wird hingewiesen. Letztlich werden soziale Aspekte der Kuren interpretiert.
