2022, Journal of EthnopharmacologyCitation Excerpt :In another set of experiments, an ethanolic extract of MO, administered acutely, in doses ranging from 30 to 300 mg/kg, to either male or female rats caused no significant changes in animal locomotion (Taiwo et al., 2012). Most of the MO essential-oil constituents, e.g. nerol, geraniol, and citral (do Vale et al., 2002; Marques et al., 2013; Medeiros et al., 2018), decreased rodent ambulation in OFT, while other, e.g. β-caryophyllene and linalool (Galdino et al., 2012; Bahi et al., 2014; Cheng et al., 2014), did not affect rodent ambulation in the same test. Some of the mentioned constituents were found in traces in the herein utilized essential oil, while others were more or less abundant (Stojanović et al., 2019b and Table S1).
