Time to open up the finances of medical journals

Perhaps the most striking thing about this paper is that the American publishers—all doctors’ organisations—refused to provide data. Inevitably, readers will wonder what they are hiding.1 The answer, I suspect, is the massive profits that they make from selling reprints of research funded by drug companies.
