Zusammenfassung

Neue Untersuchungen belegen: Mittels multiparametrischer Magnetresonanztomografie gestützte Biopsien ermöglichen eine deutlich präzisere Prostatakarzinomdiagnostik als konventionelle Ultraschallverfahren. Der Mehrwert wird jedoch nur durch eine enge Zusammenarbeit aller an diesem Verfahren Beteiligten erreicht. Dem urologischen Facharzt kommt dabei die zentrale koordinierende Rolle zu. Sie erfordert vom Urologen Kenntnisse über Chancen und Limitationen des komplexen Biopsieverfahrens.
