Zusammenfassung

Die stetig wachsende Zahl an Patienten, die ihre Krebserkrankung überleben (Langzeitüberlebende), und deren spezielle Lebenssituationen bedingen einen zunehmenden Bedarf an Beratungen zu den Themen Lebensqualität und Rezidivprophylaxe. Diese Beratung ist häufig mit Aspekten der komplementären Medizin oder auch sozialmedizinischen Aspekten vergesellschaftet. In der Langzeitbetreuung von Patienten gewinnt sie zunehmend an Bedeutung. In diesem Beitrag werden die wissenschaftlich gesicherten Erkenntnisse zu den Aspekten Ernährung, Sport, Nikotinabusus und berufliche Wiedereingliederung („return to work“) sowie deren Bedeutung für den Verlauf einer Krebserkrankung dargestellt.
