Many of us chose careers in radiology or medicine because of a mentor’s positive influence during early training. Mentorship is a cornerstone of professional growth and a vital driver of success in radiology. In a field that evolves rapidly, mentorship fosters learning, collaboration, and innovation while supporting personal and professional development. In many ways, mentoring in pediatric radiology is more important than ever. An ongoing shortage of pediatric radiologists means it is crucial to encourage medical students and trainees to join our specialty [1]. This shortage may be in part affected by persistent high burnout rates among radiologists, and mentoring offers a way to address this challenge by promoting connection, work engagement, and professional fulfilment [2, 3]. …
