In der klinischen Praxis zeigt der CGRP-Antikörper Erenumab eine gute Wirksamkeit bei Patienten mit chronischer Migräne mit vorherigen erfolgslosen Behandlungsversuchen mit fünf oralen Erstlinien-Prophylaxen und zusätzlich Botulinumtoxin A. Solche Patienten sind in den klinischen Studien nicht untersucht worden, spiegeln jedoch eine beträchtliche Zahl von Patienten in Kopfschmerzzentren wider.
