Das Mikrobiom in der Reproduktionsmedizin: Bedeutung und therapeutische Ansätze

Zusammenfassung

Hintergrund

Aktuelle Studien betonen die zentrale Rolle des vaginalen und endometrialen Mikrobioms in der Reproduktionsmedizin. Die Ergebnisse deuten darauf hin, dass das mikrobiologische Gleichgewicht im Genitaltrakt sowohl für den Erfolg der natürlichen Konzeption als auch für den Erfolg von Behandlungen mit assistierter Reproduktionstechnik (ART) von Bedeutung ist.

Material und Methoden, Ziel

Ziel dieses Beitrags ist es, einen umfassenden Überblick über die Rolle des vaginalen und endometrialen Mikrobioms in der Reproduktionsmedizin zu geben. Anhand aktueller Literatur sollen potenzielle Zusammenhänge zwischen der Dysbiose und negativen reproduktiven Outcomes dargestellt werden.

Ergebnisse und Diskussion

Eine Dysbiose des vaginalen Mikrobioms wird häufig mit einer verminderten Fertilität und einem erhöhten Risiko für Schwangerschaftskomplikationen assoziiert. Im Hinblick auf das endometriale Mikrobiom ist die Datenlage jedoch uneinheitlich, was klare klinische Schlussfolgerungen erschwert. Derzeit gibt es keine etablierten therapeutischen Ansätze, die gezielt das Mikrobiom zur Verbesserung der ART-Ergebnisse beeinflussen. Weitere gut konzipierte klinische Studien sind notwendig, um eine evidenzbasierte Therapie der Dysbiose für Frauen mit Kinderwunsch zu entwickeln.
