Die Beteiligung des enterischen Nervensystems bei Morbus Parkinson

Zusammenfassung

Der Darm und die Strukturen des zentralen Nervensystems liegen räumlich weit auseinander, haben jedoch einen gemeinsamen Ursprung im Ektoderm. Die funktionellen und pathophysiologischen Zusammenhänge der beiden Organe werden aktuell intensiv beforscht. Dies trifft für neurodegenerative Erkrankungen wie Morbus Parkinson ebenso zu wie für entzündliche ZNS-Erkrankungen, etwa die Multiple Sklerose. Dabei spielen sowohl die anatomischen Verbindungen (N. vagus — Morbus Parkinson) als auch die immunologische Funktion des Darms (Aktivierung spezifischer Inflammation — Multiple Sklerose) eine Rolle.
