A 56-year-old woman presented to our tertiary joint center with 1-year left hip swelling after total hip arthroplasty (THA). She had bilateral osteonecrosis of the femoral head due to steroid use. The patient was treated with methylprednisolone 13 years ago due to erythema nodosum. At first, the dosage was 20 mg, and the period was 1 to 2 weeks. Then, the dosage was reduced gradually to approximately 5 mg per period. The whole process lasted approximately three months. The disease did not recur, and the patient had no history of hormone use for nearly a decade. She had bilateral ceramic-on-ceramic (CoC) total hip arthroplasty (THA) 5 years ago.
