Zusammenfassung

Die chronische Nasenatmungsbehinderung ist eine der am häufigsten geäußerten Beschwerden, mit denen der HNO-Arzt konfrontiert wird. Für eine Vielzahl der Fälle ist eine Hypertrophie oder Hyperplasie der unteren Nasenmuschel ursächlich. Zu deren Behandlung haben sich in den letzten Jahrzehnten zahlreiche operative Verfahren entwickelt, die eine individuelle Anpassung an unterschiedliche pathoanatomische Gegebenheiten bieten. Ein zu radikales chirurgisches Vorgehen und eine Schädigung der respiratorischen Schleimhaut sollte dabei stets vermieden werden.
